Eneco expands WPS

WPS permit to work system will be used further within the Eneco Group. Bio Golden Raand, Bess EnspireME and CHP installations (combined heat and power) have been chosen.

Eneco Bio Golden Raand

Eneco Bio Golden Raand

The largest bioenergy plant in the Netherlands is in Delfzijl. Eneco Bio Golden Raand has an exemplary role in the port area. Wood chips from waste wood are converted into green steam in this large power plant. With an impressive capacity of 135 MW thermal, the project has grown into a beautiful showcase of Eneco Biostoom.

Eneco BESS (InspireME)

Together with Mitsubishi Corporation, Eneco developed Europe's largest battery, under the name EnspireME. EnspireME has a capacity of 48 MW and contains around 10,000 lithium-ion batteries. A growing number of wind turbines and solar panels are taking over the power production from existing fossil energy plants. However, these plants still have a role to play: they keep the electricity grid in balance by offering spare capacity.

CHP

CHP

With combined heat and power (abbreviated CHP), heat and electricity are simultaneously produced using a single-fuel engine. This can be a fossil fuel (fuel oil or natural gas) or renewable fuel (biogas or biomass). The technology has been developed especially for large buildings with a high heat requirement such as hospitals. A CHP is generally unmanned.
