What is a permit to work software?

Permit to work software is used in the industry to establish conditions about work, so that physical injury and material damage can be prevented.

Types of work

Different types of work are included in permits to work software or PTW. Consider, for example: "working at height", "working in confined spaces" and "working with chemicals" etc. In WPS these types of activities can all be added and/or adjusted.

Roles in the system

The work permit process often involves several people in different roles. WPS has various roles for the handling of work permits. The system distinguishes at least the roles: "Applicant" or “Requester”, "Coordinator", "Owner", “Provider”, "Admin". In addition, roles such as: "Co-signer", "Safety officer", "HSE supervisor", "Auditor" and "Releaser" etc.

TRA Task Risk Assessment or Analysis

For work with increased risk (for example when no fixed work procedure can be followed), a task risk analysis (or assessment) must first be carried out, in which the various services discuss what risks there are and how these can be dealt with.

Automation of permit process with WPS

WPS automates the permit process of any organisation. In addition to the work permit process WPS also has the possibility to automate the Lock-out, Tag-out, Try-out procedure, TRA risk management, incident management, certification management and instruction management.
